Getting here is so easy…and owning is even easier
Punta Leona is located on the Central Pacific coast of Costa Rica in the province of Puntarenas. 90 minutes from the capital city San José and the Juan Santa Maria international airport, and 15 minutes from Jacó - VIVA Punta Leona is easily accessible and a short drive to major centers. The Costanera highway linking San José to Punta Leona is undergoing improvements and once completed the travel time to Punta Leona will take less than hour.
Punta Leona is located in one of the last remaining forests found in the transitional zone where the dry forest meets the rainforest bringing together hundreds of wildlife species into one area. The rarity of these transitional forests makes this one of the most important private reserves. It consists of 20 hectares of primary and secondary forest and was declared a Wildlife Refuge by the Ministerio de Industria, Energia y Minas (MINAE).
Getting Here

Flying
More than 40 direct flights are available daily from U.S. cities, including Miami, Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston, and Atlanta. Situated in the Central Standard time zone, the time in Costa Rica varies by no more than two hours from any U.S. location.
Driving
Coming from San Jose take the main highway, Carretera Interamericana, going north towards Puntarenas. The highway will pass the Juan Santa Maria airport. Stay on the Interamericana for and additional 10 to 15 minutes. Take the exit to the town called Atenas, you will see a sign for Hotel Punta Leona, continue following these signs as you go through the towns of Atenas, San Mateo, Orotina, and Tarcóles. The Punta Leona entrance is on the right hand side of the road - about 15 minutes after you pass over the Tarcóles River.
